Benefits Consulting Group is an independent insurance agency with a focus on small businesses and their owners; working to provide them with the expertise needed to develop a comprehensive employee benefits program that fits both their needs and their budget, as well as executive benefit programs that address the special individual needs of the owners and key employees.

About your agent

Benefits Consulting Group of the Carolinas, Inc. was incorporated in 1996, but its roots go back to 1990 when the agency was founded by Peter A. Zanard, CLU ChFC.  Working in the employee benefits arena since 1981, Peter has held numerous and varied positions in the group insurance industry including: sales and sales management, underwriting, claims and customer services operations.  For most of his first ten years, he worked for a number of insurance companies inside their operations, and the remaining time he has been an independent agent and consultant. Peter has worked in a number of different market environments, including: New York, Los Angeles, south and central Florida, and since 1989 in North Carolina.  Additionally he has had the opportunity to work with clients of all different sizes and needs; from groups of 1 to over 6,500 employees, small non-profits to large municipal governments, and both fully insured and self-insured financing arrangements.

 

Peter is an active member of a number of industry association groups, including: National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors (NAIFA), National Association of Health Underwriters (NAHU) and the Society of Financial Service Professionals (SFSP).
